No, Gripcold-Dx is not a steroid. It is related to codeine and is a non-opioid derivative of morphine. It is an antitussive which is used for managing the dry cough.

Yes, you may discontinue taking Gripcold-Dx on your own when you feel that a cough has subsided. However, if the symptoms do not improve even after taking Gripcold-Dx for about 7 days, consult a doctor immediately.

No, Gripcold-Dx is not suitable for a patient with asthma. Gripcold-Dx is suitable for treating cough originating from cold and flu. It is not suitable for treating cough due to smoking or asthma. Asthma is generally treated with two type of medication which are long-term control and quick-relief medicine. For long-term control, medicine helps reduce airway inflammation and prevent asthma symptoms where quick-relief medicine helps sudden relief from asthmatic symptoms.
