As we know Primol(Alteus) is most widely used 'over-the-counter' analgesic/antipyretic medicine. However, paracetamol overdose can cause serious adverse effects on the liver, it may be fatal. But fortunately, there is an antidote, N-acetylcysteine (NAC) given within 8 hours of Primol(Alteus) ingestion which usually can prevent all serious side effects of Primol(Alteus) poisoning. An overdose occurs when more than the required amount (toxic levels) of [medicine] is taken. Initial symptoms of Primol(Alteus) overdose includes loss of appetite, drowsiness, seizures, abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting. Later progressive symptoms may include pain in your upper stomach, dark colored urine, yellowing of your skin or the white patches in your eyes, liver damage and in rare cases, it can also lead to coma.
