Interaction between Alcohol and Tyfimol
Taking Tyfimol with alcohol can have severely harmful effects on your health.
Although it's believed that Tyfimol works mainly in the central nervous system (Brain and Spine). It prevents the release of prostaglandin, which is responsible for increasing pain and body temperature. It effectively reduces the intensity of pain signals to the brain.
As we know Tyfimol is most widely used 'over-the-counter' analgesic/antipyretic medicine. However, paracetamol overdose can cause serious adverse effects on the liver, it may be fatal. But fortunately, there is an antidote, N-acetylcysteine (NAC) given within 8 hours of Tyfimol ingestion which usually can prevent all serious side effects of Tyfimol poisoning. However, do not take NAC without consulting a doctor as your doctor will tell you the right way and methods to help you relieve from this drug poisoning.
Yes, Tyfimol can be taken safely with a less sedative antihistaminic drug like cetirizine and loratadine etc. No harmful effects are reported. However, another group of antihistamine drug which causes drowsiness and sleepiness like chlorpheniramine, diphenhydramine etc. should not be taken together unless and until recommended by your doctor.
Yes, Tyfimol can be taken with a multivitamin. No harmful interactions found between them. However, this is not necessarily mean no interaction exists. Always consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking these two medicines at the same time.
