Interaction between Food and Metacin
Due to the absence of research, it is difficult to say how Metacin and food will interact.
Interaction between Alcohol and Metacin
Taking Metacin with alcohol can have severely harmful effects on your health.
You should take the minimum effective dose of Metacin that reduces body pain and fever. It should be used for the shortest time period till you get relief. Take it as per doctor's advice do not exceed dosage. Ideally, 1 or 2 tablets (500 mg) every four to six hours can be safely taken, do not take more than four doses in 24 hours. Please note paracetamol 500 mg tablet should not be given to children below 10 years until and unless prescribed by a child specialist.
As we know Metacin is most widely used 'over-the-counter' analgesic/antipyretic medicine. However, paracetamol overdose can cause serious adverse effects on the liver, it may be fatal. But fortunately, there is an antidote, N-acetylcysteine (NAC) given within 8 hours of Metacin ingestion which usually can prevent all serious side effects of Metacin poisoning. However, do not take NAC without consulting a doctor as your doctor will tell you the right way and methods to help you relieve from this drug poisoning.
Metacin is not recommended for back pain. However, It can be taken along with a painkiller for the treatment of back pain.
Metacin is primarily used to reduce pain and fever. It can a for other conditions such as a headache, muscle aches, backache, toothaches, and colds.
Metacin is primarily not used to treat a common cold and sore throat. It can only relieve cold-related symptoms such as a fever, headache, earache, and aching joints. It doesn't help in relieving cough or stuffy nose.
