Yes, Ultramed may cause constipation in a few cases only. It is a rare side effect of this medicine. If you are experiencing constipation after taking this drug, then try to eat fibre rich food, take digestive enzyme and laxatives might be helpful in reducing constipation.
Ultramed contains tramadol which is an opioid analgesic (pain-killer). It is presumed that tramadol provides relief from pain by binding to certain receptors (mu-opioid receptors) in our brain and by preventing the reuptake of chemical messengers (neurotransmitters) serotonin and norepinephrine.
