Yes, Paxiford may cause dry mouth because it decreases the saliva secretion in your mouth. It is a common side effect of this drug. If you experience an excessively dry mouth after taking this drug, keep yourself hydrated with juices, shakes and ample water.
Paxiford contains paroxetine which belongs to the class of drugs known as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) that works by inhibiting the reuptake (reabsorption) of a neurotransmitter (chemical messenger) serotonin which is presumed to be associated with the feeling of well-being and happiness. Low levels of serotonin in our brain cause low mood and depression. Inhibition of reuptake of serotonin by Paxiford results in its increased concentration in our brain which helps in elevating the mood.
Patients who are suffering from major depressive disorder may experience a change in suicidal behavior, and self-inflicting thought whether they are taking Paxiford or not and this risk may remain till significant remission of depression.
