Jigest is a synthetic progestin hormone. It is used to treat irregular menstrual cycles resulting from the progesterone deficiency. It is also used for preventing abortions in females who have a history of natural abortions (miscarriage). It is used for the management of estrogen deficiency in pre and post-menopausal women.
Jigest is available as a 10 mg tablet. For the regularization of a cycle, one tablet a day should be taken from day 11th to the day 25th of the cycle. For managing infertility, a tablet a day should be taken from day 14th to the day 25th of the cycle. For treating dysmenorrhea, 1 to 2 tablets a day from 5th to 25th day of the cycle. For treating endometriosis, 1 to 3 tablets from 5th to 25th day of the cycle.
