Gemiderm works by suppressing body's normal immune response to inflammation which is responsible for symptoms such as swelling, redness and itching. This results in decreased inflammation and provides relief from the symptoms associated with it.
This is because a long-term use of Gemiderm can cause Vitamin B12 deficiency. Stomach acids help in the absorption of Vitamin B 12, and this drug suppresses stomach acid which is required for the absorption of vitamin B12. Hence patients taking [medicine] for a long time have Vitamin B12 deficiency. To replenish Vitamin B12 in your body your doctor prescribes this vitamin along with this medicine.
Yes, Gemiderm can raise blood sugar in diabetic patients. It raises the blood sugar level by increasing the glucose production in the body and decreasing the effect of insulin which is produced by the pancreas. However, it is best to consult your doctor if you have diabetes while taking Gemiderm.
Yes, long-term use of Gemiderm can raise blood pressure because Gemiderm can increase sodium levels in your body as well as fluid retention can cause increases in blood pressure.
