Yes, Bufex Kid is safe to be used in children. It is the only drug which is approved to be used in children over 3 months of age. It has a good tolerability profile in children because of which it is used for the management of inflammation, mild pains, and fever in them. The pediatrician will direct you the correct dose and way to give it to your child.
Bufex Kid is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) which is used for the treatment of tenderness, swelling, stiffness, and pain associated with osteoarthritis in which there is a breakdown of the lining of the joints, and rheumatoid arthritis in which there is swelling of the lining of the joints. It is also used for alleviation of the menstrual pain, before and during the menstrual cycle. It is also used to relieve fever and pain associated with a headache, minor aches, sprains, common cold, toothache, and backache. It also shows the antiplatelet effect which means it prevents the formation of blood clots. Bufex Kid is used for the treatment of psoriatic arthritis (a chronic skin disease causing scaling and swelling), gouty arthritis (which develops from the built up of some chemical in the joints) and ankylosing spondylitis (arthritis that affects the spine).
During pain caused due to an injury, the brain releases a chemical known as prostaglandins. This chemical is also often responsible for causing fever, swelling or inflammation. Ibuprofen blocks the synthesis of this chemical and exerts its action.
Painkillers like Bufex Kid should not be used if there is decreased kidney function as they may reduce the supply of blood to the kidneys. Also, long-term use can also impair the normal kidneys. Therefore, it is important that you talk to your doctor in case you have reduced kidney function. You should use Bufex Kid exactly as prescribed by your doctor.
Dizziness is a feeling of light-headedness and unbalance. Yes, Bufex Kid has been associated with dizziness and overdose may cause fainting as well. Therefore, if you experience dizziness do not force yourself to perform any activity instead lie down take rest and inform your doctor if it persists for more than half an hour.
