Terabet GM is a brand name of clobetasol and it comes in the form of ointment, cream, and lotion. It belongs to the class of drug known as steroids (corticosteroids). It is a prescription drug used for the treatment of skin diseases such as corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses, scalp psoriasis, and plaque psoriasis.
Application of Terabet GM on the face must be avoided but if it has been advised by your doctor then you can use it only for a short-term period not more than 5 days because the skin on your face thins easily.
Terabet GM is used for the short-term treatment up to 2 weeks and if required then maximum up to 4 weeks. You are advised to use it as directed by your doctor. Do not use this medicine longer than prescribed by your doctor to avoid the unpleasant side effect.
Terabet GM should be applied 1 - 2 times a day or as advised by your doctor. Terabet GM should be applied after cleaning the infected area, allow it to dry, and then gently rub the medication till it disappears. Do not forget to wash your hands after applying this drug.
No, Terabet GM alone should not be used for ringworm because it is a fungal infection of the skin caused by fungi such as Trichophyton rubrum and Epidermophyton floccosum and Terabet GM is not an antifungal agent and it is not effective against fungi. Hence Terabet GM should not be used for the treatment of ringworm. For the treatment of ringworm, you can use a combination of Terabet GM and antifungal drugs such as miconazole and fluconazole.
