Renidex, a prescription drug, is manufactured in various forms such as Drops. The alternative uses of Renidex have also been explained below.
The optimal dosage of Renidex is largely dependent on the individual's body weight, medical history, gender and age. Individual symptoms and route of administration also determines the right dosage. For detailed information on this, read through the dosage section.
The most common side effects of Renidex are Eye Burning, Eye irritation. Such side effects of Renidex normally do not last long and go away once the treatment is completed. Please speak with your doctor if these side effects worsen or persist for a longer duration.
It is also important to note that Renidex has a Unknown effect for pregnant women and Unknown effect on lactating mothers. Yes, Renidex is helpful in typhoid fever. It is used in the management of acute typhoid fever caused by Salmonella species. It is usually given after 8 -10 days of the treatment when the fever of the patient is completely going down over this duration to prevent the relapse of the typhoid infection.
Yes, Renidex might cause aplastic anemia which is a type of anemia in which the body is not able to make new red blood cells. Renidex induces aplastic anemia by suppressing the red bone marrow which produces new red blood cells. However, it is reversible and the red blood cells production by red bone marrow is restored after discontinuation of this drug.
Yes, Renidex can cause a headache. It is a known side effect of this drug. If you experience a severe headache after taking this drug, take a mild painkiller, applying balms and complete rest even after this pain does not subside then discuss it with your doctor.
Renidex is bacteriostatic at the therapeutic dose that means it inhibits the growth of the bacteria but it can be bactericidal at higher doses. It works by inhibiting the protein synthesis in bacteria which it needs to survive. In the absence of protein synthesis, the bacterial growth is stunned and slowed.
Yes, Renidex is safe to use, if taken in prescribed amount and duration as advised by the doctor. However, certain side effects have been associated with this drug such as a headache, nausea, and vomiting.
