Interaction between Alcohol and Prosym P

Prosym P is available in the form of injectable, tablets and syrups to be taken orally, as a suppository to be taken rectally. When taken for treating allergies, it is taken 1 to 4 times a day usually before meals or at bedtime. When used for treating cold, it is taken every 4 to 6 hours. When used for treating motion sickness, it is taken 30 to 60 minutes before travel and again after 8 to 10 hours if required. Prosym P might also be taken at bedtime before surgery to feel relaxed and sleep properly. The suppositories are meant for rectal use. Do not use them in any other body cavity. If using Prosym P liquid, avoid using a household spoon and use the measuring cup that is dispensed with the syrup. The Prosym P should be taken exactly as prescribed by your doctor.
Prosym P is usually not prescribed with metronidazole, however, in some cases, these medicines may be prescribed together and then your doctor may change the dose and dosing schedule of one or both of the medicines.
Yes, Prosym P comes in combination with codeine. The combination is used to relieve the runny or stuffy nose, sneezing and other symptoms caused by an allergy or a common cold. Prosym P acts as an antihistamine agent by working against histamine released by the body. Histamine is responsible for symptoms like itching, watery eyes, runny nose, etc. Codeine, on the other hand, is a narcotic. It acts as a pain relieving agent by working on the central nervous system.
Yes, Prosym P can cause heart problems. Prosym P causes vasodilation (blood vessel dilation which results in a drop in blood pressure). At therapeutic dose, Prosym P decreases the muscular contractions. Prosym P may also increase the heart rate. Prosym P also causes some ECG changes like QT and PR interval prolongation and ST segment depression

Free histamines are found in the bloodstream due to allergic reactions, and hence this drug helps in relieving allergic symptoms such as coughing and sneezing.
