No, it is recommended that you do not take Promegan Plus with amitriptyline which is an antidepressant with anticholinergic effects. Since Promegan Plus also has anticholinergic effects, both the drugs produce additive effects such as dry mouth, constipation, blurred vision, etc.

How to take Promegan Plus?

Promegan Plus is available in the form of injectable, tablets and syrups to be taken orally, as a suppository to be taken rectally. When taken for treating allergies, it is taken 1 to 4 times a day usually before meals or at bedtime. When used for treating cold, it is taken every 4 to 6 hours. When used for treating motion sickness, it is taken 30 to 60 minutes before travel and again after 8 to 10 hours if required. Promegan Plus might also be taken at bedtime before surgery to feel relaxed and sleep properly. The suppositories are meant for rectal use. Do not use them in any other body cavity. If using Promegan Plus liquid, avoid using a household spoon and use the measuring cup that is dispensed with the syrup. The Promegan Plus should be taken exactly as prescribed by your doctor.

Does Promegan Plus cause dry mouth?

Yes, antipsychotics like Promegan Plus exert anticholinergic effects and as a result, dry mouth is one of the adverse reactions. Some of the additional anticholinergic effects are constipation, urinary retention, and blurred vision. If any of these effects present, it is important that you talk to your doctor immediately.
