Prokem is a commercial drug that is prescribed in the form of Tablet. Primarily, it is used for the treatment of Urinary Tract Infection, Bacterial Infections. The alternative uses of Prokem have also been explained below.
The optimal dosage of Prokem is largely dependent on the individual's body weight, medical history, gender and age. Individual symptoms and route of administration also determines the right dosage. Refer to the dosage section for a detailed discussion.

Women who are breastfeeding can experience some moderate side effects of Prokem. Immediately discontinue Prokem if you observe any side effects. Contact your doctor, and restart using it only if your doctor considers it safe for you.

Interaction between Food and Prokem
Taking certain foods and Prokem together may have severe side effects. Talk to your doctor about it.
Interaction between Alcohol and Prokem
Consult your doctor before consuming alcohol while taking Prokem as it can have severe side effects.
It is recommended to avoid taking Prokem with azithromycin because it can cause problems. However, if your doctor has prescribed it to you take it as per his/her advice. In case you are experiencing breathing difficulties, palpitations and pain in the chest please inform your doctor immediately.
Prokem can increase the risk of tendonitis and tendon rupture in some patient. However, the exact mechanism of tendon rupture is not known. If you suffer from tendon rupture or any kind of muscular pain after consuming this drug, please consult your doctor immediately.
Yes, Prokem can be taken with paracetamol, no clinically significant interactions are seen between these two. However, it doesn't mean that no interaction exists between them. Please talk to your doctor before consuming these two medicines together.
Do not take Prokem along with dairy products such as milk or yogurt or calcium-containing foods. Dairy products may affect the absorption of the medicine directly affecting the efficacy of this drug. Hence, avoid taking Prokem with calcium-rich foods.
It is recommended to avoid taking Prokem with ibuprofen, because it may increase the risk of side effects associated with the central nervous system. Hence you must consult a doctor before taking these two medicines together.
