Burns can be treated with skin cream, lotion or an ointment containing ingredients like gentamycin sulfate, fusidic acid, silver nitrate, silver sulfadiazine, mafenide acetate, etc. Please do not self-medicate with Momeflo for burns and speak to your doctor for a recommendation.
Momeflo is a topical corticosteroid which is used for treating conditions like psoriasis and eczema. It is not to be used on face and that too for treating acne. Acne can be treated by using anti-acne preparations containing active ingredients like alpha-hydroxy acids, benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, clay, sulfur, etc. Acne is rather one of the side effects caused by Momeflo.
Momeflo is a medium potency synthetic corticosteroid with anti-inflammatory, antipruritic (used to relieve itching) and vasoconstrictive (narrowing of the blood vessels) activity. It is effective for the treatment of asthma. It is also used topically for the management of skin disorders like psoriasis (red scaly patches on some areas of the body) and eczema (dry and itchy skin with red and scaly patches). It is generally available as a furoate salt.
Momeflo should start showing effects in 2 weeks time. It is safe to be used for as long as it is recommended by your doctor. Do not use excessive amount or for a prolonged period of time. Always speak to your doctor before discontinuing Momeflo or when you intend to use it for more days.
Momeflo works by releasing some anti-inflammatory proteins and inhibiting the synthesis of some inflammation mediators. This provides relief to the patient temporarily.
