Cresar contains telmisartan which is an antihypertensive drug that works by preventing a chemical (angiotensin II) to bind with a receptor. This causes relaxation of blood vessels, it also prevents the synthesis and release of aldosterone (a hormone whose hyperactivity results in high blood pressure). In this way Cresar decreases the blood pressure.
Cresar is available in the form of tablets. A tablet is usually taken once a day, with or without food because food affects the absorption of this drug.
