Yes, the risk of a heart disease increases with the intake of Acugesic, especially during a long-term use, in comparison to those people who do not use Acugesic. The drug should be avoided if you have had a history heart attack or cardiac ailments. You must inform your doctor if someone in your family had a heart attack or a stroke, if you smoke, or if you have ever had high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and diabetes. Call for the emergency help right away if you experience slurred speech, shortness of breath, chest pain or weakness in one side of the body.

Acugesic is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) which is used for the treatment of tenderness, swelling, stiffness, and pain associated with osteoarthritis in which there is a breakdown of the lining of the joints, and rheumatoid arthritis in which there is swelling of the lining of the joints. It is also used for alleviation of the menstrual pain, before and during the menstrual cycle. It is also used to relieve fever and pain associated with a headache, minor aches, sprains, common cold, toothache, and backache. It also shows the antiplatelet effect which means it prevents the formation of blood clots. Acugesic is used for the treatment of psoriatic arthritis (a chronic skin disease causing scaling and swelling), gouty arthritis (which develops from the built up of some chemical in the joints) and ankylosing spondylitis (arthritis that affects the spine).

Yes, Acugesic can cause bleeding problems, ulcers, and perforation in stomach and intestine. These complications might develop during any phase of the treatment without warning symptoms. Acugesic is available in the form of a tablet, chewable tablet, suspension and drops, and syrup. Prescription Acugesic is taken every 4 to 6 hours for arthritis and pain. Adults and children older than 12 years may take non-prescription Acugesic every 4 to 6 hours. Children and infants may be given Acugesic every 6 to 8 hours. It is important to take Acugesic with food or milk so as to prevent stomach upset. If you are taking Acugesic every day, remember to take it at the same time. Acugesic is also available in combination with other drugs for treating cold and cough. If you have prescribed a combination containing Acugesic, do not take any non-prescription drug containing Acugesic as it might cause overdosage. Shake the drops and suspensions well before use.
