Interaction between Alcohol and Zincoderm M
Taking Zincoderm M with alcohol has not been seen to have harmful effects. However, please be careful if you do so.
No, Zincoderm M alone should not be used for jock itch also known as tinea cruris because it is a fungal infection and Zincoderm M is not an antifungal agent and it is not effective against fungi. Hence Zincoderm M should not be used for the treatment of jock itch. For the treatment of jock itch, you can use a combination of Zincoderm M and antifungal drugs such as miconazole and fluconazole.
Zincoderm M should be applied 1 - 2 times a day or as advised by your doctor. Zincoderm M should be applied after cleaning the infected area, allow it to dry, and then gently rub the medication till it disappears. Do not forget to wash your hands after applying this drug.
Zincoderm M is used for the short-term treatment up to 2 weeks and if required then maximum up to 4 weeks. You are advised to use it as directed by your doctor. Do not use this medicine longer than prescribed by your doctor to avoid the unpleasant side effect.
Yes, Zincoderm M might cause hair loss (alopecia). It is a rare side effect of this drug and the exact cause behind hair loss is unknown. For partial hair loss, you are advised to use hair solution such as minoxidil.
Zincoderm M contains clobetasol which is presumed to work by promoting the induction of inhibitory proteins (lipocortins) in the body. Lipocortins prevents the release of arachidonic acid which causes synthesis and release of certain chemicals such as histamine, leukotrienes, and prostaglandins that causes inflammation. In this way Zincoderm M prevents the skin inflammation which provides relief to the patient from rash, itching, and redness.
