Tufderm is a prescription medicine that is available as a Ointment, Cream. Primarily, it is used for the treatment of Psoriasis, Eczema, Dermatitis. Other than this, Tufderm has some other therapeutic uses, which have been discussed ahead.

Yes, Tufderm might be used for the treatment of lichen sclerosus (LS) which is a skin condition that causes thinning of the skin and white patches, generally in the genital area. Clinical studies have found Tufderm to be effective in the treatment of lichen sclerosus (LS).
Application of Tufderm on the face must be avoided but if it has been advised by your doctor then you can use it only for a short-term period not more than 5 days because the skin on your face thins easily.
Yes, Tufderm might cause dry skin in few cases only. However, the exact cause behind dry skin is unknown. If you are experiencing excessive dryness of skin after applying this drug then you are advised to use a skin moisturizer. Skin moisturizer should be applied only after 30 minutes of applying this drug so that the Tufderm can be absorbed by the skin.
Tufderm contains clobetasol which is presumed to work by promoting the induction of inhibitory proteins (lipocortins) in the body. Lipocortins prevents the release of arachidonic acid which causes synthesis and release of certain chemicals such as histamine, leukotrienes, and prostaglandins that causes inflammation. In this way Tufderm prevents the skin inflammation which provides relief to the patient from rash, itching, and redness.
Tufderm should be applied 1 - 2 times a day or as advised by your doctor. Tufderm should be applied after cleaning the infected area, allow it to dry, and then gently rub the medication till it disappears. Do not forget to wash your hands after applying this drug.
