Yes, Ranitas can be taken with omeprazole when prescribed by a doctor. Both the medicines work towards reducing stomach acid production. The doctor usually prescribes the two of them together when the symptoms of acidity get severe. However, do not take them together by yourself without consulting a doctor.
No, Ranitas is not an antacid. It belongs to the group of medicine called H2- receptor blocker which blocks excess acid secretion in the stomach while antacid only neutralizes the stomach acid by coating the stomach.
