Pylokit is the brand name for tinidazole. It belongs to a class of drugs known as antiprotozoals. It is available in the form of an infusion, suspension, and tablet. Pylokit is used for the treatment of trichomoniasis cause by T. vaginalis, in both the genders. It is also used for the treatment of giardiasis caused by G. duodenalis, and intestinal amebiasis and amebic liver abscess caused by E. histolytica, in adults as well as children older than 3 years.
Discontinuing Pylokit on your own can increase the chances of bacterial resistance and infection relapse. It is recommended that you always consult your doctor if you have decided to discontinue this medicine.
