Prozine (Parasol) is available in the form of injectable, tablets and syrups to be taken orally, as a suppository to be taken rectally. When taken for treating allergies, it is taken 1 to 4 times a day usually before meals or at bedtime. When used for treating cold, it is taken every 4 to 6 hours. When used for treating motion sickness, it is taken 30 to 60 minutes before travel and again after 8 to 10 hours if required. Prozine (Parasol) might also be taken at bedtime before surgery to feel relaxed and sleep properly. The suppositories are meant for rectal use. Do not use them in any other body cavity. If using Prozine (Parasol) liquid, avoid using a household spoon and use the measuring cup that is dispensed with the syrup. The Prozine (Parasol) should be taken exactly as prescribed by your doctor.
Yes, Prozine (Parasol) can cause convulsions or seizures. It is one of the rare side effects of Prozine (Parasol). Talk to your doctor immediately when you experience this side effect.
Citalopram is an antidepressant which interacts with Prozine (Parasol) causing increased serotonin levels in the blood. This can cause adverse cardiac effects like high blood pressure, an increase in the heart rate and this might lead to shock.
Prozine (Parasol) belongs to the class of compounds known as phenothiazines. It has antihistaminic, antiemetic and sedative properties. Prozine (Parasol) is indicated to be used for allergic rhinitis, allergic conjunctivitis, allergic responses of the body to blood and plasma products. In combination with other drugs, the Prozine (Parasol) is used for treating the symptoms of common cold like sneezing, runny nose and coughing. In some cases, this drug is also used to sedate patients before labor and surgical procedures. It is also used to treat motion sickness, nausea, and vomiting.
Prozine (Parasol) is usually not prescribed with metronidazole, however, in some cases, these medicines may be prescribed together and then your doctor may change the dose and dosing schedule of one or both of the medicines.
