Miomycin is a prescription medicine that is available as a Syrup, Tablet. It is primarily used for the treatment of Ear Infection, Tonsillitis, Pneumonia. Secondary and off-label uses of Miomycin have also been mentioned below.

Interaction between Food and Miomycin

Interaction between Alcohol and Miomycin
No research has been done on this till date. Therefore, it is not known what the effect of taking Miomycin with alcohol will be.
Yes, Miomycin can treat gonorrhea and chlamydia. For the mild infection, a single dose is given whereas in case of severe infection treatment should be given for at least one week, and response should be closely monitored by a doctor. However, you must consult your doctor before taking any antibiotic for treating gonorrhea and chlamydia.
Clinically no any harmful interaction has been reported between Miomycin and oral contraceptive pills. However, the interaction between these two can't be completely ignored. Please consult your doctor before taking these two medicines at the same time.
No harmful interactions are found between Miomycin and alcohol, it does not reduce the effectiveness of the drug. However, alcohol can cause liver damage and dehydration in some people which may increase the severity of side effects, if taken together. So, it is better to avoid taking alcohol with Miomycin.
Take Miomycin exactly as prescribed by your doctor, do not exceed dosage. Food does not affect the absorption of azithromycin, one can take it with or without foods but to avoid stomach disturbances take it with a light meal. Complete the entire course of medicine.
Discontinuing Miomycin on your own can increase the chances of bacterial resistance and may cause a relapse of the infection. It is recommended that you always consult your doctor before discounting this drug.
