No, Gertac is not an antacid. It belongs to the group of medicine called H2- receptor blocker which blocks excess acid secretion in the stomach while antacid only neutralizes the stomach acid by coating the stomach.
Taking [medicine] does not directly cause pneumonia. However, in some cases [medicine] may increase the chances of bacteria to grow inside the gut causing bacterial infections such as pneumonia.
