No, Dipgenta Plus alone should not be used for jock itch also known as tinea cruris because it is a fungal infection and Dipgenta Plus is not an antifungal agent and it is not effective against fungi. Hence Dipgenta Plus should not be used for the treatment of jock itch. For the treatment of jock itch, you can use a combination of Dipgenta Plus and antifungal drugs such as miconazole and fluconazole.
Yes, Dipgenta Plus might cause dry skin in few cases only. However, the exact cause behind dry skin is unknown. If you are experiencing excessive dryness of skin after applying this drug then you are advised to use a skin moisturizer. Skin moisturizer should be applied only after 30 minutes of applying this drug so that the Dipgenta Plus can be absorbed by the skin.
Dipgenta Plus contains clobetasol which is presumed to work by promoting the induction of inhibitory proteins (lipocortins) in the body. Lipocortins prevents the release of arachidonic acid which causes synthesis and release of certain chemicals such as histamine, leukotrienes, and prostaglandins that causes inflammation. In this way Dipgenta Plus prevents the skin inflammation which provides relief to the patient from rash, itching, and redness.
