Rarely, Candi can cause stomach upset especially when it is intravenously administered (route injectible). On the contrary, oral administration of Candi has been reported to cause stomach upset such as indigestion, stomach pain, diarrhea, and nausea. Keep your doctor informed in case you are experiencing stomach disturbances while taking this drug.
Take Candi as directed by your doctor. Do not discontinue the drug suddenly or take it longer than prescribed.
Candi inhibit the fungal cytochrome P450 enzyme lanosterol 14- demethylase and thus block ergosterol synthesis leading to membrane abnormalities in the fungus. It kills the fungus by destroying its cell membrane.
