Interaction between Alcohol and Azid 200 Syrup
No research has been done on this till date. Therefore, it is not known what the effect of taking Azid 200 Syrup with alcohol will be.
No harmful interactions are found between Azid and alcohol, it does not reduce the effectiveness of the drug. However, alcohol can cause liver damage and dehydration in some people which may increase the severity of side effects, if taken together. So, it is better to avoid taking alcohol with Azid.
Azid is a brand name for azithromycin. It is a prescription drug that belongs to the class of medication called macrolide antibiotic. It is used to treat a bacterial infection such as throat infection, respiratory tract infections, ear infections, and certain sexually transmitted diseases. It is also sometimes coupled with other antibiotics and medications to effectively treat infections such as Mycobacterium avium complex infection.
Yes, Azid can treat gonorrhea and chlamydia. For the mild infection, a single dose is given whereas in case of severe infection treatment should be given for at least one week, and response should be closely monitored by a doctor.
