Ibucon Plus is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) which is used for the treatment of tenderness, swelling, stiffness, and pain associated with osteoarthritis in which there is a breakdown of the lining of the joints, and rheumatoid arthritis in which there is swelling of the lining of the joints. It is also used for alleviation of the menstrual pain, before and during the menstrual cycle. It is also used to relieve fever and pain associated with a headache, minor aches, sprains, common cold, toothache, and backache. It also shows the antiplatelet effect which means it prevents the formation of blood clots. Ibucon Plus is used for the treatment of psoriatic arthritis (a chronic skin disease causing scaling and swelling), gouty arthritis (which develops from the built up of some chemical in the joints) and ankylosing spondylitis (arthritis that affects the spine).
Painkillers like Ibucon Plus should not be used if there is decreased kidney function as they may reduce the supply of blood to the kidneys. Also, long-term use can also impair the normal kidneys. Therefore, it is important that you talk to your doctor in case you have reduced kidney function. You should use Ibucon Plus exactly as prescribed by your doctor.
Ibucon Plus should be taken as long as it has been prescribed by your doctor. Longterm use is associated with various adverse effects like stomach upset, kidney damage, heart problems, etc., therefore, stop the usage if you experience any adverse effect.
No, Ibucon Plus is not a muscle relaxant. It is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug which is used to relieve pain and inflammation associated with aches, sprains, and strains.
Ibucon Plus is available in the form of a tablet, chewable tablet, suspension and drops, and syrup. Prescription Ibucon Plus is taken every 4 to 6 hours for arthritis and pain. Adults and children older than 12 years may take non-prescription Ibucon Plus every 4 to 6 hours. Children and infants may be given Ibucon Plus every 6 to 8 hours. It is important to take Ibucon Plus with food or milk so as to prevent stomach upset. If you are taking Ibucon Plus every day, remember to take it at the same time. If you have prescribed a combination containing Ibucon Plus, do not take any non-prescription drug containing Ibucon Plus as it might cause overdosage.
