Yes, Cortaz is safe to use, if applied in prescribed amount and duration as advised by the doctor. However, certain side effects have been associated with this drug such as skin atrophy (skin thinning), burning or stinging sensation of the skin. If you experience above-mentioned side after using this drug then inform your doctor and follow his/her instructions.
Cortaz should be applied 1 - 2 times a day or as advised by your doctor. Cortaz should be applied after cleaning the infected area, allow it to dry, and then gently rub the medication till it disappears. Do not forget to wash your hands after applying this drug.
Application of Cortaz on the face must be avoided but if it has been advised by your doctor then you can use it only for a short-term period not more than 5 days because the skin on your face thins easily.
No, Cortaz should not be discontinued without doctors advice. You are recommended to always consult a doctor before discontinuing this medicine.
No, Cortaz alone should not be used for ringworm because it is a fungal infection of the skin caused by fungi such as Trichophyton rubrum and Epidermophyton floccosum and Cortaz is not an antifungal agent and it is not effective against fungi. Hence Cortaz should not be used for the treatment of ringworm. For the treatment of ringworm, you can use a combination of Cortaz and antifungal drugs such as miconazole and fluconazole.
