Interaction between Food and Ultican
Taking Ultican with food does not cause any problems.
Interaction between Alcohol and Ultican
No research has been done on this till date. Therefore, it is not known what the effect of taking Ultican with alcohol will be.
Ultican inhibit the fungal cytochrome P450 enzyme lanosterol 14- demethylase and thus block ergosterol synthesis leading to membrane abnormalities in the fungus. It kills the fungus by destroying its cell membrane.
Rarely, Ultican can cause stomach upset especially when it is intravenously administered (route injectible). On the contrary, oral administration of Ultican has been reported to cause stomach upset such as indigestion, stomach pain, diarrhea, and nausea. Keep your doctor informed in case you are experiencing stomach disturbances while taking this drug.
Occasionally, Ultican causes constipation when it is taken orally, while the interavenous administration of the medication does not cause constipation or other stomach related issues.
Discontinuation of Ultican on your own can cause unwanted side effects such as a headache, dizziness, stomach upset, and diarrhea. You are recommended to always consult a doctor before discontinuing this medicine.
