Lipocortins prevents the release of arachidonic acid which causes synthesis and release of certain chemicals such as histamine, leukotrienes, and prostaglandins that causes inflammation. Hence Sonaderm should not be used for the treatment of ringworm. For the treatment of ringworm, you can use a combination of Sonaderm and antifungal drugs such as miconazole and fluconazole.
