Interaction between Food and Loramyl

Interaction between Alcohol and Loramyl

Take over the counter Loramyl after each loose bowel movement. Do not take it more than 6 times in 24 hours. It is not recommended for long-term treatment. However, if it has been prescribed by your doctor then you are advised to take it as per his/her instructions.
Yes, Loramyl may cause drowsiness (sleepiness). It is an uncommon side effect of this drug. However, f you experience drowsiness after taking this drug, then you are advised not to drive any vehicle or operate any machinery to avoid accidental injury.
Loramyl contains loperamide. It works by slowing down the movement of bowel in the intestine which lowers the fecal volume and increases its viscosity. This also allows better absorption of salts and water in the body. Hence in this way Loramyl provides relief from diarrhea.
No, Loramyl does not treat stomach cramps. It is only used for the short-term treatment of diarrhoea.
No, Loramyl does not lower the blood pressure (hypotension) at normal therapeutic doses but it can cause this effect if it is taken in more than the recommended doses. If you are experiencing lightheadedness or blurry vision (symptoms of low blood pressure) after taking this drug then try to sit down and take rest for a while till it subsides, also inform to the doctor without further delay.
