Yes, Viclob S might be used for the treatment of lichen sclerosus (LS) which is a skin condition that causes thinning of the skin and white patches, generally in the genital area. Clinical studies have found Viclob S to be effective in the treatment of lichen sclerosus (LS).
Viclob S should be applied 1 - 2 times a day or as advised by your doctor. Viclob S should be applied after cleaning the infected area, allow it to dry, and then gently rub the medication till it disappears. Do not forget to wash your hands after applying this drug.
Viclob S contains clobetasol which is presumed to work by promoting the induction of inhibitory proteins (lipocortins) in the body. Lipocortins prevents the release of arachidonic acid which causes synthesis and release of certain chemicals such as histamine, leukotrienes, and prostaglandins that causes inflammation. In this way Viclob S prevents the skin inflammation which provides relief to the patient from rash, itching, and redness.
Viclob S is used for the short-term treatment up to 2 weeks and if required then maximum up to 4 weeks. You are advised to use it as directed by your doctor. Do not use this medicine longer than prescribed by your doctor to avoid the unpleasant side effect.
