This hairloss is temporary in nature and hair growth is restored after discontinuation of this drug. You are advised to inform your doctor and take prevention methods to stop hairfall as much as possible during the course of this drug.

No, Stalopam is not an antipsychotic drug. It contains escitalopram which belongs to the class of drugs known as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs). It is used for the treatment of depression (major depressive disorder) and anxiety (generalized anxiety disorder). It is also used in the treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and panic disorder with or without agoraphobia.

For treatment of anxiety Stalopam is usually given upto 8 weeks and for the treatment of depression, the duration of treatment may vary depending upon the severity of depression. Take Stalopam as advised by your doctor. Do not discontinue the drug suddenly or take it longer than prescribed by your doctor to avoid unpleasant side effects.

Stalopam contains escitalopram which belongs to the class of drugs known as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) that works by inhibiting the reuptake (reabsorption) of a neurotransmitter (chemical messenger) serotonin which is presumed to be associated with the feeling of well-being and happiness.
