Udigold belongs to the class of compounds called bile acids and salts. Ursodiol is a bile acid which is used for the management of gallstones and primary liver diseases. It also prevents the formation of gallstones in people who are rapidly losing weight.
Udigold is taken orally, usually 2 to 3 times for managing the gallstones and twice for preventing the formation of gallstones in people who lose weight quickly. Udigold should be taken strictly as prescribed by your doctor.
Your doctor will assess your condition after a course of Udigold for example 2-3 months. Depending upon the size and number of gallstones you doctor will take a decision whether gallbladder should be removed or not.
