Saf Pid is a commercial drug that is prescribed in the form of Tablet. It is primarily used for the treatment of Ear Infection, Tonsillitis, Pneumonia. Saf Pid also has some secondary and off-label uses. These are listed below.

Saf Pid is a brand name for azithromycin. It is a prescription drug that belongs to the class of medication called macrolide antibiotic. It is used to treat a bacterial infection such as throat infection, respiratory tract infections, ear infections, and certain sexually transmitted diseases. It is also sometimes coupled with other antibiotics and medications to effectively treat infections such as Mycobacterium avium complex infection.
No harmful interactions are found between Saf Pid and alcohol, it does not reduce the effectiveness of the drug. However, alcohol can cause liver damage and dehydration in some people which may increase the severity of side effects, if taken together. So, it is better to avoid taking alcohol with Saf Pid.
Take Saf Pid exactly as prescribed by your doctor, do not exceed dosage. Food does not affect the absorption of azithromycin, one can take it with or without foods but to avoid stomach disturbances take it with a light meal. Complete the entire course of medicine.
