Ondacip is a prescription drug, available for use as Syrup. Primarily, it is used for the treatment of Nausea and Vomiting.

Yes, Ondacip can be taken with pantoprazole as there are no records of any drug interaction. Pantoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor which is used for treating acidity. Acidity can be managed by avoiding eating acidic and spicy foods, avoiding smoking, and avoiding sleep within 3 hours of taking meals.
Yes, Ondacip can be used for the symptom alleviation in anxiety, however, more clinical trials are needed to confirm this association. Anxiety can also be effectively managed by breathing deeply, practicing meditation, and not taking much stress. In case of severe anxiety please speak to your doctor.
Yes, Ondacip is usually administered before and after surgery for treating post-anesthesia shivering (PAS) and nausea. PAS is a condition in which tremors of head, neck, trunk, shoulder, and extremities. It greatly reduces the quality of life of a patient since it causes discomfort and increases pain. It disturbs surgical care and increases the stress on cardiopulmonary functions. Hence as a precautionary measure, this medicine is administered to prevent unpleasant anesthetic effects.
Ondacip belongs to a class of compounds known as 5 -HT3 receptor antagonists. It blocks the action of serotonin completely at the 5-HT3 receptor sites present in our brain (vomiting centre) which provides relief to the patient from nausea and vomiting.
Ondacip is available in form of tablet, syrup, and injection. It should be taken as per your doctor's instructions. Ideally, Ondacip has to be taken with food to avoid stomach upset. The initial dose is usually taken half an hour before chemotherapy, 1 to 2 hours before radiation therapy and 1 hour before a surgery. Additional doses can be suggested by the doctor as per the individual requirements.
