Nimogem is a brand name of nimesulide. It is a prescription drug that belongs to the class of medication called NSAIDs (Nonsteroidal Antiinflammatory Drugs). It has been used primarily for short-lasting painful inflammatory conditions like sports injuries, sinusitis, and other ear-nose-throat disorders, dental surgery, bursitis (Inflammation of the fluid-filled sac in the joints), lower backache, dysmenorrhoea (painful menstruation), post-operative pain, osteoarthritis and for fever.
No, Nimogem does not cause drowsiness because prescribed Nimogem has no effect on the central nervous system but an overdose of Nimogem may lead to lethargy, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, drowsiness, gastrointestinal bleeding. Hypertension, acute renal failure, coma, and respiratory depression may occur but are rare.
Discontinuation of Nimogem on your own can cause unwanted side effects. You are recommended to always consult a doctor before discontinuing this medicine.
Ideally Nimogem is not prescribed by a doctor for a toothache.
