No, Linowin does not treat STD (sexually transmitted diseases). It is not used for the treatment of STD (sexually transmitted diseases) such as gonorrhoea and syphilis.
Rarely, Linowin causes a headache. It is an uncommon side effect of this drug. However, the exact cause of a headache is unknown. If you experience a severe headache after taking this drug, take a mild painkiller, apply balm and take rest even after this if the pain does not subside then discuss with your doctor immediately.
Rarely, Linowin causes fever and chills. If you are experiencing fever after taking this drug then try to take mild antipyretic medicine such as paracetamol even after this fever does not subsidise then discuss with your doctor and follow his/her instructions.
Linowin is a broad-spectrum antibiotic which is active against gram-positive bacteria and certain gram-negative bacteria. It works by preventing the protein synthesis in bacteria which are essential for it. The absence of these vital proteins results in stunned bacterial cell growth due to which bacteria become vulnerable and dies. Linowin is effective against a wide range of gram-positive bacteria and some gram-negative bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Streptococcus pyogenes, Streptococcus agalactiae, and Enterococcus faecium.
