Yes, Indowel is usually administered before and after surgery for treating post-anesthesia shivering (PAS) and nausea. PAS is a condition in which tremors of head, neck, trunk, shoulder, and extremities. It greatly reduces the quality of life of a patient since it causes discomfort and increases pain. It disturbs surgical care and increases the stress on cardiopulmonary functions. Hence as a precautionary measure, this medicine is administered to prevent unpleasant anesthetic effects.
Indowel is available in form of tablet, syrup, and injection. It should be taken as per your doctor's instructions. Ideally, Indowel has to be taken with food to avoid stomach upset.
