Gastrogyl is a prescription medicine that is available as a Suspension, Tablet, Sachet. It is typically used for the treatment of Amebiasis, Bacterial Infections, Urinary Tract Infection. Gastrogyl also has some secondary and off-label uses. These are listed below.
The correct dosage of Gastrogyl depends on the patient's age, gender, and medical history. Individual symptoms and route of administration also determines the right dosage. For detailed information on this, read through the dosage section.
Common side effects of Gastrogyl include Dry Mouth, Headache, Fatigue. Besides the aforementioned side effects, there are other adverse effects of Gastrogyl as well, which are listed below. Usually, these side effects of Gastrogyl go away soon, and do not persist beyond the duration of the treatment. Consult your doctor if these side effects become worse or stay for a longer duration.

Interaction between Food and Gastrogyl
Due to a lack of research, nothing can be said about the consequences of taking Gastrogyl together with food.
Interaction between Alcohol and Gastrogyl
Taking alcohol with Gastrogyl can be dangerous.
It is recommended to avoid taking Gastrogyl with azithromycin because it can cause problems. However, if your doctor has prescribed it to you take it as per his/her advice. In case you are experiencing breathing difficulties, palpitations and pain in the chest please inform your doctor immediately.
Gastrogyl is not recommended as the first-line of a drug for treating a sinus infection. However, if there are no other alternatives available then you can take it. Keep your doctor informed.
Gastrogyl used to treat several bacterial infections, like urinary tract infection (UTI), pneumonia, bone, and joint infection, endocarditis, gastroenteritis, otitis externa, prostatitis, anthrax, and bacterial infection of the eye. It is not effective for treating any viral infections such as cold, and flu.
Gastrogyl can be taken with tramadol. No harmful drug interactions have been reported between them. However, It doesn't mean that no interaction exists between these two medicines when taken together. If you feel any discomfort after taking the two together, inform your doctor immediately.
Gastrogyl should not be taken together. Harmful drug-drug interaction has been reported between them. Please let your doctor know that you are on warfarin if he/she has prescribed Gastrogyl to you.
