If you are suffering from any of the following diseases, you should not take Folifer Sp unless your doctor advises you to do so -
Folifer Sp should be taken at the same time, whether morning or night. It should be taken with a glass of water, with or without food.
Folifer Sp can be safely taken through the oral route or injectible. The drug is safe when taken in doses less than 1000 micrograms per day. You are advised to take Folifer Sp as per your doctor's instructions. Do not take it in more than the prescribed doses.
Folifer Sp is a brand name of folic acid which is a water-soluble form of vitamin B9. The natural form is known as folate while folic acid is the synthetic form. It is a prescription drug which is given for the treatment of folic acid deficiency. It is also given in pregnancy to prevent birth defects (neural tube defects) in the fetus.
Long-term oral use of Folic acid can be unsafe as it can cause stomach upset, gas, abdominal cramps, and diarrhea.
In rare instances, severe allergic reaction to Folifer Sp has been reported such as hives, breathlessness, and difficulty in swallowing.
