Empeea is a commercial drug that is prescribed in the form of Tablet. It is primarily used for the treatment of Abnormal Uterine Bleeding, Contraceptives. Secondary and off-label uses of Empeea have also been mentioned below.

Rarely, Empeea causes a headache. It is a known side effect of this drug. However, the exact cause behind this is unknown. If you experience a severe headache after taking this drug, take a mild painkiller, applying balms and complete rest, even after this if the pain does not subside then discuss with your doctor immediately.
Yes, Empeea is used as a contraceptive (birth control method). For contraception one injection of Empeea is given over the duration of 3 months, a total of 4 injections are given throughout the year for effective contraception. The fertility is restored normally after 10 months following the last injection of this drug on an average basis.
No, Empeea does not protect you from STDs (sexually transmitted diseases such as HIV AIDS). However, it is presumed that it might help in preventing pelvic inflammatory disease by causing thickening of cervical mucus and preventing the penetration of STDs microorganisms into the body from the reproductive system. You are advised to use a barrier method of contraception such as male condom and female condom for protection from STDs.
Usually, Empeea is given for short-term treatment of amenorrhea and menorrhagia which may vary from case to case basis depending on the condition of the patient.
