If these effects cause troublesome, then consult your doctor regarding whether this effect arises due to diltiazem consumption or not. If yes, then you can stop taking this medicine with the help of doctor because of alternate treatment are also available. It works by inhibiting the movement of calcium into vascular smooth muscle cells and cardiac cells which inhibits the contraction of cardiac muscle and vascular smooth muscle and reduce electrical conduction within the heart cell and dilate blood vessel.
