Angizem DP is a calcium channel blocker. It works by inhibiting the movement of calcium into vascular smooth muscle cells and cardiac cells which inhibits the contraction of cardiac muscle and vascular smooth muscle and reduce electrical conduction within the heart cell and dilate blood vessel. Dilation of the blood vessel reduces the blood pressure and decreases the chance of angina.
Angizem DP comes in the form of a tablet and ideally, it should be taken by mouth thrice daily or as advised by your doctor. It can be taken with or without food at any time of the day. Precautions must be taken in patients with liver disease, diabetes, and kidney problem.
