Alprose is a brand name for alprazolam. It is a controlled prescription drug that belongs to the class of medications called benzodiazepine. It is short-acting potent anxiolytic and a minor tranquilizer. It is used for the treatment of anxiety and panic disorder (sudden, unexpected attacks of extreme fear and worry about these attacks).
Alprose can be taken with or without food. Preferably taken 2 - 4 times in a day. Extended-release tablet should be taken once daily. The dose should be gradually increased from low to high.
