How to apply Zincoderm?

Zincoderm should be applied 1 - 2 times a day or as advised by your doctor. Zincoderm should be applied after cleaning the infected area, allow it to dry, and then gently rub the medication till it disappears. Do not forget to wash your hands after applying this drug.

However, the exact cause behind skin discoloration is not known but it is more likely to occur if the skin is covered with a dressing after applying this drug. No, Zincoderm alone should not be used for jock itch also known as tinea cruris because it is a fungal infection and Zincoderm is not an antifungal agent and it is not effective against fungi. Hence Zincoderm should not be used for the treatment of jock itch. For the treatment of jock itch, you can use a combination of Zincoderm and antifungal drugs such as miconazole and fluconazole.

Zincoderm contains clobetasol which is presumed to work by promoting the induction of inhibitory proteins (lipocortins) in the body. Lipocortins prevents the release of arachidonic acid which causes synthesis and release of certain chemicals such as histamine, leukotrienes, and prostaglandins that causes inflammation. In this way Zincoderm prevents the skin inflammation which provides relief to the patient from rash, itching, and redness.
