Moxigood Information

Moxigood is a commercial drug that is prescribed in the form of Tablet. It is primarily used for the treatment of Bacterial Infections. The alternative uses of Moxigood have also been explained below.

The optimal dosage of Moxigood is largely dependent on the individual's body weight, medical history, gender and age. Moxigood contains moxifloxacin (a broad-spectrum antibiotic that belongs to the class of drugs known as fluoroquinolones). It works by inhibiting enzymes (topoisomerase IV and DNA gyrase) in bacteria which prevents the DNA replication, transcription, repair, and recombination that is essential for the survival of the susceptible organism. In this way Moxigood is effective against a wide range of both gram negative and gram positive bacteria such as Enterococcus faecalis, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Streptococcus pyogenes, Escherichia coli, Haemophilus influenzae, Haemophilus parainfluenzae, Klebsiella pneumoniae, and Moraxella catarrhalis.
