Yes, Norvent LS may cause rapid heartbeats (tachycardia). It is a rare side effect of this drug. Tachycardia occurs because this drug sometimes stimulates the smooth muscles which are present in the heart. If you are experiencing rapid or increased heartbeats after taking this drug, then you are advised to consult your doctor without further delay.
Norvent LS is a brand name of levosalbutamol (also known as levalbuterol) it is available in the form of tablet, syrup, respules, transpules, and inhaler. It belongs to the class of drugs known as beta-2-adrenergic agonists (bronchodilators). It is a prescription drug which is used to provide relief from bronchospasm in asthma and COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease). Patients with long-term respiratory infections are also prescribed Norvent LS to get instant relief from breathing difficulties.
The effect of interaction between these two drugs is not clear because Benadryl (diphenhydramine) increased sedation while as Norvent LS decreased sedation. Hence, you are advised to discuss it with your doctor first before taking these two drugs together.
