No, Ondet MD is not an antibiotic. It is an anti-emetic medication which is used to prevent vomiting associated with chemotherapy and radiation therapy.
Yes, Ondet MD may cause drowsiness because this drug has been reported to induce sleep. Ensure you do not drive or do some high precision work. To avoid excessive drowsiness with this medicine you are encouraged to take adequate night-time sleep, keeping distractions out of the bedroom, going to sleep and getting up at consistent times, eating light at lunchtime, putting in some form of a physical activity, avoiding taking naps during the day, and avoiding alcohol at night.
Ondet MD is available in form of tablet, syrup, and injection. It should be taken as per your doctor's instructions. Ideally, Ondet MD has to be taken with food to avoid stomach upset. The initial dose is usually taken half an hour before chemotherapy, 1 to 2 hours before radiation therapy and 1 hour before a surgery. Additional doses can be suggested by the doctor as per the individual requirements.
Ondet MD is a brand name for ondansetron. It belongs to a class of compounds known as serotonin type 3 receptor antagonists. It is available in the form of tablet and injection. It is used to prevent nausea and vomiting that is caused by anti-cancer drugs, chemotherapy and radiation therapy. It is also used to prevent post-surgical nausea and vomiting.
Ondet MD must be taken for as long as it is prescribed by your doctor. You must not take more or less of it as it may cause side effects or disease relapse.
